Best Connections in the Business

Introduction
GDC’s PacketMATE 1000 is a reliable and versatile low cost
standalone router with support for sync serial, T1/E1 and
ethernet. It supports up to two T1/E1 or sync serial ports,
and provides many powerful features including NAT fire-
wall, QoS, VPN, VRRP, dynamic routing, line bonding,
peer-to-peer traffic control, VoIP gateway, and more.
The PacketMATE 1000 includes a fanless 266 MHz AMD
Geode processor, 128 MB memory, two 10/100 ethernet
ports, two Mini expansion slots, and one USB expansion
bus. The PM-1000 can be bundled with one synchronous
serial card or up to two T1/E1 ports. It is also designed to
support add-on interfaces for ethernet, Basic Rate ISDN
(BRI), FXO/FXS, or dial-up modem.
PM-1000 includes modular support for WAN protocols
including PPP, Cisco HDLC and frame relay. Its real-time
port status and performance monitoring features help to
simplify troubleshooting for LAN and WAN connections.
Intended Use
PM-1000 is part of GDC’s line of high performance low cost
routers. It is designed for use in branch offices, wireless
POPs, and other small-scale routing applications. The
extensive feature set is ideal for networking applications
requiring wirespeed performance and solid reliability in a
small but durable chassis with no cooling fans.
The PM-1000 can replace Cisco 1600, 1700 and 1800 series
routers, and provides a low-cost solution for small scale
virtual private networks (VPNs) and quality of service
(QoS) applications where reliable performance is required.
